Fun Artists!
We are Joe and Jana May and we love to laugh and we love Art. Joe is a retired Art Teacher and Jana is a former Paralegal and Realtor, and a life long Crafter. We want to share the joy of Art with you and that is why we created Art to Lift the Spirit.
Joe May, BFA, MEd, and all around fun guy
I have been fascinated with art all my life which led me to study Fine Art at the University of Montevallo where I earned my BFA. Being a struggling Visual Artist and having a son on the way, I returned to the University of Montevallo and pursued my Masters in Art Education. I retired in 2021 and found that I miss teaching Art. This is the reason for my involvement in Art to Lift the Spirit.
Jana May, Crafter and Party Gal
I have always loved art and it was my favorite subject at school until I made cheerleader and put my love of art on the backburner. Then I met Joe May and he inspired me to pick up where I left off. I'm still learning and invite you to come on the journey with me.
